MEGA Grant Program
FY25 Loss Control and Safety Grant
The MEGA Board of Directors is pleased to announce year two of the MEGA Loss Control and Safety Grant Program. The Grant Application is available to our members. Reviews will be completed, and final award notifications will be mailed by December 6, 2024.
All current MEGA Members may apply for a grant of up to $5,000 (on a reimbursement basis) for costs associated with activities that provide a safe and healthy environment for employees and mitigate the number and severity of work-related injuries and illnesses. These activities include, but are not limited to:
- The development and implementation of safety and health programs.
- The implementation of less hazardous work processes.
- The purchase of equipment or tools that address or reduce the hazards faced by employees.
- Training that leads to increased safety, health, and wellbeing of employees.
- General safety enhancements.
Applicants must complete the FY25 Loss Control and Safety Grant Application (attached hereto). It may be helpful to contact Tim McGuire, Sr. Loss Control Consultant, in advance of submitting an application. In addition to providing claims data and statistics, he can make other valuable suggestions regarding new programs and other high-risk areas in the organization.
The one-page application is efficiently designed and requires thoughtful input regarding: (1) how the grant will promote employee safety, health, and wellbeing by enhancing loss control and safety initiatives; and (2) the proposed use of funds which details items to be procured, their purpose, and estimated costs. You may want to consider initiatives that improve air quality, provide ergonomically designed workstations, supply personal protective equipment, offer driver safety trainings, develop loss control policies and procedures, provide screening tools for building entrance ways, promote employee safety, or that implement necessary technical training; just to name a few.
Applications will be reviewed by the Sr. Loss Control Consultant with a recommendation to the Executive Director and Northeast Area Director with a final review by the Board of Directors. A total budget of $75,000 has been established for year two.
Members may apply for only one grant during the policy year.
Good luck! We look forward to your application submission.

Executive Director
